Swindl.

Art direction & design: Faith Henke

The perfect crime? Finding long lasting love online. Swindl is a dating app for criminals to meet, chat, and connect with other deviants in their area. Personal project created in InVision.

Objective: The objective of the “Swindl” dating app concept project was to explore a provocative and unconventional idea by creating a fictional dating platform tailored for individuals with a penchant for deviant behavior. The primary goal was to showcase creativity and design skills while emphasizing that the concept is purely fictional and not intended for real-world use.

Approach:

  1. Concept Development:
    • Embraced the unconventional nature of the concept by brainstorming ideas that challenged traditional dating app norms and expectations.
    • Explored the juxtaposition of criminal behavior and online dating to create a unique and thought-provoking user experience.
  2. User Interface Design:
    • Designed a sleek and sophisticated user interface that mirrors the aesthetics of mainstream dating apps while playing with the juxtaposition of a colorful dating app for deviant behavior.
    • Utilized bold typography, playful color schemes, and colorful iconography to create a visually engaging and memorable design.
  3. Feature Innovation:
    • Developed innovative features and functionalities tailored to the needs and preferences of users seeking unconventional connections.
    • Implemented privacy and security measures to ensure user safety and anonymity within the confines of the fictional app universe.
  4. Brand Identity:
    • Created a compelling brand identity for “Swindl” that captures the essence of the concept and resonates with the target audience of daring and adventurous individuals.
    • Crafted a captivating brand story and messaging to accompany the app’s visual design and reinforce its fictional nature.
  5. Prototype Creation:
    • Leveraged InVision to bring the concept to life through interactive prototypes that showcase the app’s key features and user interactions.

Results:

  • Provocative Concept Exploration: The “Swindl” dating app concept challenges conventional thinking and prompts users to reconsider their perceptions of online dating and criminal behavior.
  • Creative Expression: Through bold design choices and innovative feature development, the project highlights the designer’s ability to think outside the box and push creative boundaries.
  • Engagement and Discussion: The concept sparked curiosity and conversation among peers and industry professionals, generating interest and intrigue around the intersection of technology, ethics, and human behavior.

Conclusion: The “Swindl” dating app concept project serves as a testament to my creativity, imagination, and willingness to explore unconventional ideas through design. By pushing the boundaries of traditional design prompts, I demonstrate my ability to think critically and craft compelling narratives that captivate while tying in my penchant for humor-laced projects.
